Abstract

The article deals with the issues pertaining to the protection of collective patients’ rights in Poland. The emphasis is placed on the practical side of the matter. In particular, practices violating the rights of patients are discussed. Nevertheless, many theories with regard to consumer’s rights are taken into consideration. Furthermore, important fundamental regulations guaranteed at constitutional and statutory level are analyzed. As far as institutional mechanisms for the protection of patients’ rights are concerned, the article deals with the role of the Patient Ombudsman and of the President of Competition and Consumer Office in ensuring the protection of patients’ rights.
