dc.description.abstract | This article examines the students' experiences with violences at home and in school using data on 60 students (30 males and 30 females) of secondary school in Poznan. Experiences with violence include three student's positions: as perpetrator, victim or witness of violence. Research sample contains three groups; members of first group (n = 20) were classified by teachers as highly aggressive, members of second group (n = 20) were classified as low aggressive and the third group was selected randomly. Results showed that the most
frequent student's experience with verbal aggression at home as victims. Classification prepared by student's teachers was incompatible with results obtained in students' self - evaluations. Data analyses showed high correlation between sever positions of violence experiences. Students who reported to be the victim of aggression at home also reported that they were mostly perpetrators and victims of aggression at home and in school. These results
suggest that students transfer their experiences with violence between sever spheres and
positions in their life. These results could be mentioned as a new support to popular notion
of a cycle of violence. accepted by many psychologists. sociologists and social workers. | en_US |
