| dc.description | Almost overnight the ability to use English has become nearly as indispensable as the ability to
use one's mother tongue. No longer is it an additional ability that may or may not be useful but
something that one cannot function properly in the multicultural world. English is used at all times,
regardless if one is at work or enjoys their leisure time. In spite of that, numerous teachers and tutors
have to deal with the issue of their students' low motivation level. In the presented article the theoretical
part discusses basic information regarding motivation to learn foreign languages as well as factors
affecting it. The practical part, on the other hand, presents and analyses the results of a research
conducted among the lecturers teaching English as a second language at Nicolas Copernicus
University Collegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz. The answers given by the respondents based on their
experience will allow me to establish which motivational techniques and strategies yield the best results

| dc.description.abstract | Niemalże z dnia na dzień znajomość języka angielskiego stała się prawie tak niezbędna jak
znajomość języka ojczystego. Nie jest to już umiejętność dodatkowa, która może, lecz nie musi być
przydatna, a coś, bez czego praktycznie nie można funkcjonować. Język angielski jest używany cały
czas, niezależnie od tego czy jesteśmy w pracy, czy mamy czas wolny. Pomimo to, wielu nauczycieli
i lektorów boryka się z problemem niskiej motywacji wśród swoich studentów. W niniejszym artykule
w części teoretycznej zostaną omówione podstawowe informacje dotyczące motywacji do nauki
języków obcych, a także czynników, które na nią wpływają. W części praktycznej natomiast zostaną
przedstawione i zanalizowane wyniki badań przeprowadzonych wśród wykładowców języka
angielskiego Collegium Medicum Uniwersytetu Mikołaja Kopernika. Odpowiedzi, udzielane przez
respondentów na podstawie ich doświadczeń, pozwolą ustalić, które techniki i strategie motywujące
dają najlepsze rezultaty w pracy ze studentami. | en_US |
