| dc.description | In the history of higher education in the Second Republic of Poland habilitation is an interesting issue due to
the significant differences in comparison with the contemporary procedure. Between the wars the main principles
were formulated in the laws on academic schools. The aim of this text is to determine the number of habilitations
in Pedagogy and any difficulties in receiving the title by examining the rules and specific procedures for
habilitation. Habilitation was carried out on the basis of one printed scientific work and the previously received
Doctor’s degree, without the requirement of any other scientific achievements, though they were usually taken
into account. Habilitation only gave the right to teach one particular subject as an associate professor. There
were only a few habilitations in Pedagogy and related disciplines, 18 at state universities. The same was true

| dc.description.abstract | W historii szkolnictwa wyższego w II Rzeczypospolitej przeprowadzanie habilitacji jest problemem interesującym
chociażby ze względu na znaczne różnice ze współczesną procedurą. Główne jej zasady w okresie międzywojennym
określono w ustawach o szkołach akademickich. Przygotowując niniejszy tekst, chciano zarówno
przeanalizować zasady przeprowadzania habilitacji, jak i zbadać konkretne procedury, by ustalić ich liczbę
w przypadku pedagogiki oraz trudności w ich przebiegu. Habilitację przeprowadzano na podstawie jednej wydrukowanej
pracy naukowej i uzyskanego wcześniej stopnia doktora, bez konieczności posiadania innego
dorobku naukowego, choć ten zwykle brano pod uwagę. Dawała ona jedynie prawo do wykładania danego
przedmiotu jako docent. Z pedagogiki i dyscyplin pokrewnych habilitacji przeprowadzono niewiele, na uczelniach
państwowych tylko 18. Podobnie było i w innych dyscyplinach. | en_US |
