Importance of social values related to gender and reactivity was assessed for two groups of youth: 93 students (aged 19-26) and 99 pupils (aged 17-19) of secondary school in a small town. They were examined with Strelau Temperament Inventory and Values Scale. In general, social values are more important for pupils than for students, as well as they are more important for low-reactive women than for low-reactive men. In the whole group values oriented towards good social relations (Family, Friendship) are more important than prosocial values (Other people, Nature, Salvation), and Salvation is the least important value. However, the differences between importance of values are different (especially for prosocial values) in particular groups. Gender, reactivity and life situation of youth influence in another way on importance of each of considered values – the importance of each of theme is a result of different mechanisms.en_US
