Author analysed possible theoretical grounds of popular belief (known in art) that there is a correlation between the face features and behavioural personal predispositions. He identified two theoretical points of view which could explain why such a belief appears. One is a sociocultural attitude based upon the culturally transmissed interpretation of stereotypes. Another attitude is a natavistic one according to which the correlation face - personality is formed really in the process of species development of the human being because it has a positive selective value. Author shows also results of a. sounding research if there are any stereotypes of face features interpretation in behavioural personal categories. The tested persons showed an ability to use different stereotypes of this kind.en_US
