Establishing contacts with the grown - ups is offundamental significance in the process of initiating and consolidating children activities. This becomes of special importance ifwe have to do with the child considerably and deeply retaroed. The author tries to reveal in what the repressed activities ofthe retarded child make it difficult to establish contacts with his objective and social environment. Great possibilities in this domain have been opened by the movement developed with the methods ofV. Sherborne. where the adult together with the child do exercises which stimulate to be active even deeply handicaped chi Id in psychic and motorial spheres. The empirical material has been collected from observations carried in the center for mentally retaroed girls who took part in the training sessions conducted with V. Sherborne methods.en_US
