dc.description.abstract The aim of this article is a description, on the basis of available empirical data, of psychological factors associated with family and its behaviours which might lead to childhood obesity. In the first part of the article medical aspects of obesity are described and its psychosocial consequences. The awareness of psychological determinants of childhood obesity may help in better prevention of it. en_US
