dc.description.abstract | Didactic and organisational skills of Slovak composer Eugen Suchoň multifariously
influenced his creative work. Suchoň’s instructive compositions, but also compositions
for adults, are hitherto actual, since they survey development of culture and music
education of Slovakia in 20th century. the composer himself entitled his lifelong work
„Destiny of Slovakia”, since the Great Moravian Empire theme, through socialistic
foretime of the country (encroachment on the opera Krútňava) till the „tender revolution
eve” era. the article presents the atmosphere of Pezinok and Suchoň’s family, memories
which composer often recalled to get some ideas for his works. It describes Suchoň’s opera
Krútňava in a form of teaching aid designated to the elementary schools and colleges.
Furthermore, it recounts how Slovak folk song became the inspiring tool for the cycle
Obrázky zo Slovenska, where several levels of composition conception „from citation up
to modality” can be followed. | en_US |
