dc.description.abstractThe article presents results of research study on quality of the social environment of development in early childhood and its contextual determinants. The research was conducted within 2010-2012. The participants consisted of 972 children aged between 1 to 41 months and their parents who are of different socioeconomic status, living in different parts of Poland. The research was carried out in the domestic space, which is the most natural environment for children. The American IT HOME Inventory (Infant/Todler Home Observation for Measurement of the Environment) by Caldwell and Bradley in Polish adaptation IT-HOME/PL was used. Conducted research allows to indicate factors which are the determinants of the quality of child’s social environment in Poland, directions of farthest research and indicators for organizing system of support for families in the most difficult situation.en_US
