The presented article is an effect of reflections on concepts and categories by the means of which the
knowledge about youth is designed in the pedagogical discourse. In the research a specific type of discourse
analysis had been used by the means of combining the issues of knowledge production, power
relations and the construction of subjects. It is expressed as an element of the constructing analytics.
Starting from the analysis of the pedagogical discourse a reflection has been made on the ways of how
specific types of knowledge about young people/youth, which are the constructions expressing certain
interests (utility systems, values, viewpoints) create conditions of possibilities and justification for constructing
young people. The youth concepts which express characteristic rationalities of ruling were
underlined, i.e. considering the category of youth as a resource, problem and transition.
