Restauracja katedry sandomierskiej na przełomie XIX i XX wieku

Abstract

The aim of this article is to present the subject of the restoration works in Sandomierz cathedral, which took place in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. This nineteenth century restoration retained the dualism of the style in this historic building. During these works the elevation of the building was veneered church vestibule and neo-Gothic ave-bell were built on. What is more, baroque elements of the front elevation and rococo interior were retained. At the beginning of the twentieth century frescoes in the chancel were unveiled and restored.
