dc.description.abstract | The goal of this article is to try to answer a question if in present day conditions it is possible to harmoniously interconnect mission with trade and if we can unequivocally determine what this mission is about. Changes in the nowadays world have an influence on significant reassessment of traditional fields of educational discourse where neoliberal and neoconservative tendencies clash. However, Polish language teacher cannot take only one point of view - cannot convey one vision of culture, tradition and national identity. According to the survey on post-secondary graduates, students mostly want Polish language lessons to help them with functioning in the present world. The things that they find useful are not knowledge, cultural or literary competences but linguistic ones. Thus, first of all the teacher should fulfil these pragmatic expectations and then carry out the mission and fill in the world of culture. | en_US |
