dc.description.abstract | Since the school textbook is the first source of information about history for many young people, the author of the article has compiled a summary of curricula and history books for secondary schools. It should be remembered that the author, when writing a school history textbook, takes into account documented historical facts as well as scientific achievements in the field of historiography. However, it also takes into account political conditions. This was the case in Poland after World War II during the communist regime, but it is also true today, when one of the political options is dominant in the country. The subject of the analysis in this article is the way of presenting the image of Russia (USSR) and Russians in Polish history textbooks. Post-war textbooks from the times of the Polish People’s Republic were analyzed. The author of the article shows the dynamics of changes
in the presentation of the image of the neighbor – Russia / USSR in the narrative of the school textbook in Poland. | en_US |
