dc.description.abstractThe aim of this article is to specify the role that the political discourse plays in Polish education. To do this some basics of cirruculum, syllabus and textbooks of secondary level were put into analysis. Some contents which allow to train language skills necessary to participate in political discourse were separated.These contents were grouped into seven categories : rhetoric, eristic, persuasion, language manipulation, speech delivering, negotiations, literary genres proper for political discourse. The quantitative combination of these problems shows that their schedule in the textbooks is not even and depends on the autor’s preferences. The analysis therefore leads to the conclusion that Polish education can prepare to participate in political discourse However, the quality of the preparation will be dependent on the textbook which students have used.en_US
