Józefa Stalina poglądy na temat języka i językoznawstwa

Abstract

The paper aims to present from the metalingustic point of view Stalin’s statements on language and linguistics which are comprehended by the authors as the integral part of officially controlled system of propaganda in the Soviet Union in the 50’s. The authors reveal the historical and social context which enabled Stalin to proclaim his critical outlook of Nikolay Marr’s lingustic theory, afterwards the authors present in short the main aspects of Marr’s theory. This serves as the background for discussing Stalin’s linguistic views and their importance in constructing of the propaganda discourse. The article ends with the conclusion that Stalin’s statements on language and lingustics may be taken for the act of manifesting his authority over the Soviet empire, ideology and speech.
