| dc.description.abstract | Summary. The issue of psychosocial functioning of musicians fits into the area of
research in the field of music psychology. The research raises the problem of how
much young musicians-instrumentalists, who achieve various levels of achievements
in the process of musical education, differ in terms of psychological functioning.
Assuming that musical abilities are a condition sine qua non determining
the level of musical achievements, an emphasis was put on measuring selected
variables that are psychosocial in nature, such as personality, social support,
stress coping strategies, and the level of musical sensitivity in terms of aesthetic
assessment of music. The key research question was to verify whether pupils/
young musicians-instrumentalists who achieve artistic successes and are appreciated
at music competitions as well as get high marks from music experts have
a different constellation of psychosocial features than students with a low level of
musical achievements? The theoretical part also refers to the issue of subjectivity
in the assessment of music.
The results of the research indicate the existence of significant correlation between
high levels of musical achievements and sensitivity in terms of aesthetic
assessment of music, positive thinking and attitude towards public performances,
increased conscientiousness and a sense of social support (in various dimensions)
from selected people in the immediate environment. | en_US |
