Od czasoprzestrzeni do teleobecności. Przestrzeń wobec przekazu medialnego

Abstract

The aim ofthis article is to address the problem ofthe space in the mass media. The starting point ofthis reflection is the view of Paul Virilio that the traditional notion of space is not applicable for the media. Two aspects of this kind of globalization - the time compression and the telesupervision - are discussed in the article based on the news program “Fakty” broadcasted by the Polish television TVN. The examples used to illustrate the Virilios concept ofthe space decline seem to fully confirm the idea that the traditional space does not exist in the media transmission.
