Abstract

The subject ofthis paper are names ofthe Belorussian hairdressing and beauty salons excerpted from the telephone directory ofBelarus. The aim ofthe paper is to identify the tendencies in this group ofthe chrematonyms. The analysis has shown that the names are derived from women’s or, rare, men’s given names. The names ofthe Belorussian hairdressing and beauty salons are also connected with the beauty, youthfulness, magic, prestige, sun, women and hair. Many ofthe chrematonyms are in foreign languages or written using the Latin alphabet, so the tendency to the internationalization of this group of proper names can be noted.
