Abstract

The subject under consideration is the theme of reverence for characteristic elements of the native nature (such as a forest or a steppe) in selected novellas, journalistic texts, and novels by Henryk Sienkiewicz. Semantic analyses of the chosen categories of nature are consistent with the relationship of identity and reverence for a specific space/place. Sienkiewicz, both a journalist and a fictional description creator, describes the explicit antinomies in respect of experiencing an artistic transfer of domestic and foreign categories of nature that are the subject ofreflection. The scope and semantics ofthis opposition have been shown.
