Leon z Małej Toskanii, czyli o najnowszych zjawiskach w polskim nazewnictwie

Abstract

Transformations initiated in Poland in 1989 have concerned cities as well. It mainly regards the large and medium ones; smaller - to a lesser degree. What first catches the eye is their appearance, particularly city centres which have be­ come more trim, renovated, colourful and tidy. Inseparable element of city land­ scape is the nomenclature which has also undergone various changes both with reference to appearance as well as functions it serves. The subject of the article are not only the names inscribed in the structure of the cities (the names of streets, housing estates, shopping centres), but also the names of the urban residents.
