Kondycja człowieka w warunkach ponowoczesności - tożsamość a osoba
Streszczenie
The title of this academic work presents the opposition of the identity and the person
in miscellaneous references. Both categories relate to the importance of the human
condition with the reference to human himself, others and the world. They do thus,
however, in a different, even opposite way. Identity proof is being sought in narratives,
collective memory, body, gender, recognized symbolism of the local and the global
ideas. There are temporary factors, therelative ones, whichare tangled in the circumstances
that are involved superficially. Hence, the conditions of postmodernism lack
of the classical approach of a human being. Relinquishment of metaphysical approach
and dependence of a man from the determinant pointed out in contemporarybiologisticstudy
in ethology and sociobiology. What is more, the omission of human nature in
postmodern philosophy finds footing in the practice of narratives andperformatives.
It seems as if it is the only way to preserve the status of the individualism in relation to
everything whatdeprives it of separateness and independence.
It turns out, however, that the individual within one’s own subjectivity experience
himself in metaphysical terms, though at the same time being influenced by ideology
of postmodernism does not consider, nor explicitly articulate this ontological own
status in the cultural discourses. This situation shows the need for metaphysical reflection
on the man and the understanding of the human being as a person. Properties
of a person pointed out in the Neo-Scholastic Thomism include: freedom, consciousness,
ability to make heroic affirmation, legal subjectivity, completeness (totality) and
essentially guaranteed dignity. The importance of the person category is completed by
the concept of ethical personalism. High ontological status frees the individual from
seeking immediate and superficial security of its own identity. It also puts an end to
extreme individualism.
Individual people’s indelible attitude of their uniqueness and autonomy remains
within themselves. The existence of this benchmark obliges the participants of the
individual and social relations to respect and affirm one another.
