| dc.description.abstract | The text is part of research regarding the issue of space. Space is described as an object of valuation. The aim of the article is to show the linguistic means by which Maria Pawlikowska-Jasnorzewska evaluates England’s space of emigration.
The text consists of three parts, which comprise: 1. presentation of elements of the poet’s biography, the characteristics of a letter as a communication tool; 2. clarification of the concepts of value and valuation, presentation of examples and
their interpretation; 3. summary and conclusions. In the letters linguistic material is a predominance of means negatively evaluating space. Among them, the largest number constitutes of lexical means. Formative, connotative and metaphorical means are also present. | en_US |
