| dc.description | Having fun and playing games were, and still are, the dominant activity characteristic of
childhood, but also an extremely important aspect of the life of adults. A toy as an inherent attribute of playground activities has accompanied man from time immemorial. Although the issue of having fun, playing games, entertainment, and ways of spending time among the gentry has already been explored in several works, the problem of specificity of the games played and children’s toys still remains a cognitively inexhaustible research area. The purpose of the performed analyses was to obtain information on the games and children’s toys that were preserved in diary tradition. An attempt was made to reconstruct, as well as problematize and systematize descriptions and characteristics of games and toys, and to indicate the determinants of their specificity, and the richness of their forms and types. The territorial dividing lines cover the area of Greater Poland (Wielkopolska), a district within the Prussian partition, whereas the time dividing lines cover the second half of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. The source basis for the issue under consideration includes printed memoirs and diaries, whose authors came from gentry families living in the area of Greater Poland. | en_US |

ale też niezwykle istotnym aspektem życia człowieka dorosłego. Zabawka jako nieodłączny atrybut czynności zabawowych towarzyszy człowiekowi od najdawniejszych czasów. Chociaż problematyce zabaw, rozrywek i sposobów spędzania czasu w
warstwie ziemiańskiej poświęcono już kilka prac, zagadnienie specyfiki zabaw i
zabawek dziecięcych wciąż pozostaje niewyczerpanym poznawczo obszarem badawczym. Celem podjętych analiz było uzyskanie informacji o zabawach i zabawkach dziecięcych, które utrwalone zostały w przekazach pamiętnikarskich. Podjęto próbę odtworzenia i
problemowego usystematyzowania opisów i charakterystyk zabaw i zabawek, wskazania czynników warunkujących ich specyfikę, bogactwo ich form i rodzajów. Cezury terytorialne obejmują swym zasięgiem obszar Wielkopolski, dzielnicy zaboru pruskiego. Cezury czasowe zaś obejmują drugą połowę wieku XIX i początek wieku XX. Bazą źródłową dla rozpatrywanego zagadnienia uczyniono materiały wspomnieniowe i
