Ksiądz Józef Ćwikliński - moderator prac restauracyjnych i budowlanych kościołów kieleckich w II poł. XIX w
Streszczenie
The aim of the article is to present a figure of Ft. Józef Ćwikliński. Father Józef was born in 1817 in Koszów, near Wadowice. ln 1837 he entered the seminary. He was ordained priest on 25 July 1840. Initially he was a vicar of the collegiate church (now the cathedral) in Kielce. In 1858 he was nominated for an honorary canon of the collegiate church of Kielce. In 1874 he became a canon of the collegiate church of Kielce, then its honorary canon. He was also a prelate of the collegiate church of Kielce, Kielce dean of the deanery and parish priest in Chęciny. He died in 1894 and was buried in the tomb of the canons of the Old Cemetery in Kielce. Father Józef Ćwikliński took an active part in the restoration of the Collegiate Church (later Cathedral) in Kielce, conducted in the 18505, as well as subsequent restorations, ongoing at the turn of the 18605 and 1870s as well as the early 1890s. Yet another temple of Kielce Fr. Józef Ćwikliński was involved in restoring in the 1850s was a filial church of St. Adalbert. Both of these facilities have been thoroughly renovated and subjected to extensive restoration and conservation work. Plaques in memory of Fr. Józef Ćwikliński can be found in St. Adalbert Church in Kielce, in St. Bartholomew the Apostle Church in Chęciny and in the Cathedral of Kielce, where the epitaph (designed by Franciszek Kowalski) is currently covered by the interiors of the chapel of Our Lady of the Rosary.
