The issue of family in a contemporary social thought is analyzed in many sciences: psychology, sociology, pedagogy, anthropology. Family participation in the processes of creating the society and its role in the public culture, religion and education is still a current problem. The family becomes the place of originating and experiencing values, culture, relationship, and personal models. This study presents the concept of the family as a social environment whose basic function is "giving birth" to creatures in many aspects: biological, spiritual, cultural, axiological and social. The reflection of the role of family education in a contemporary and still changing world, is put into the educational context here.
