Młode osoby w optyce pracodawców. O potrzebie przygotowania edukacyjnego młodych
Streszczenie
Research shows that employers expect from job candidates largely
„soft” competencies. Deficiencies in this area among newly hired employees are
relatively the most common cause of parting with a young employee. The reasons for
neglecting employers’ expectations lie, among others, on the side of education and
upbringing. For much is in fact said about how important it is to choose the right
direction of education (it is obvious that it is important). In all this, however, the
message about the role of „soft” competencies (their formation and development in
the course of education and upbringing) and the fact that they are significant from the
point of view of professional life, „escape” general attention. What is, then, important
for employers exactly in this context, how do they see young people, including those
that belong to the NEET category, what are their expectations and objections with
regard to young people, including young employees, and finally how do they evaluate
them in confrontation with older employees? It is also important to recognize the
demand, and used methods of recruitment, as well as forms of employment by
employers. This text, presenting the results of research in this field which refer to the
research project POWR.02.04.00-00-0051/16: Effectively for young people - new
standards on the labour market in the Kujawy-Pomerania province, is an attempt to
answer these questions. It is important that not only pupils or students finishing the
process of education have the knowledge of these aspects, but also other people, such
as educators, including parents, teachers, lecturers and counsellors. The article also
highlights the need to educationally prepare young people in the context of competence
deficiencies and the participation of employers in this process.
