Abstract

The article refers to the way Hans Christian Andersen describes and interprets nature and civilization and highlights potraying them as coexisting spheres not oppositions. Among analysed elements there is water and wind, the sun, stars, moon, birds and flowers in nature sphere and as faras the city development is concerned there are streets, buildings, sewage system and lamp posts.
