Abstract

The object ofthisstudy is the pool ofsurnames derived from given names collected from the 1906-1910 registry books of the Orthodox St. Nicolaus Parish of Włocławek. The analysis has shown that most ofthe surnames are derived from Old Church Slavonic or Eastern Slavonic given names. The most frequent suffix is -ov / -ev. However, there are also surnames with the Polish or German characteristics and with other suffixes.
