Abstract

The library o f the Congregation o fthe Holy Spirit was founded in the twenties o f the last century.lt is one o f the typical monastic libraries. The library serves mainly members o f the Congregation and - first o f all - all o f the clergymen studying at Seminary High School. That is why the library collection has a scientific character, based on collecting mainly materials of theology and philosophy.The library does not have very valuable manuscripts or incunabules. However among the collection there are also many old prints and rare publications printed in ninetieth and twentieth century. The library’s pride are books on pneumatology as well as materials related to Order’s activity which beginnings are dated to eighteenth century.Among the library collection there are also works o f founders o f Congregation, mainly written in French - native language o f the missionaries.Since the second half ofthe nineties the library has been computerized. It also offers access as a public library for members ofthe parish and Bydgoszcz universities students.
