Those changes contribute the phenomena, which have been called posttraumatic growth. It Includes changes in self perception, relating to others and changes in life philosophy. The purpose of the study was to answer the question whether in a group of women with breast cancer (after mastectomy) the posttraumatic growth occurs, and to what extend, and to investigate if resiliency (as a personality trait) may promote this phenomena. 67 women with breast cancer (aged 42-75; M = 60,43; SD = 7,07), after mastectomy participated in the study. The Posttraumatic Growth Inventory and the Resiliency Assessment Scale were used, 50% of women revealed high level of posttraumatic growth (25% low and 25% average). The aim of this study was to examine relationship between coping strategies with stressful situations and the selected personal resources: the sense of controllability of this situation and the self-efficacy. 451 adolescents were investigated (278 girls and 173 boys) with Ways of Coping Questionnaire by Uchnast (1995), Sense of Controllability Scale and Survey by E. Talik and The Self-Efficacy Scale by Juczyński (2001). Results show that adolescents with high level of the sense of controllability more frequently choose strategies as follows: confrontational coping, problem solving and accepting responsibility. There are no significant differences between adolescents with different level of the sense of controllability regarding strategies as follows; self-controlling, seeking social support, distancing and escape-voidance. Whereas adolescents with high level of the sense of self-efficacy more frequently choose problem solving strategy Adolescents with low level of the sense of self-efficacy more frequently choose strategies as follows: distancing and escape-avoidance. Two research methods were used: 1. Latack Coping Scale- this scale measures five strategies of coping with problems at work, i.e. avoidance-withdrawal, positive thinking, direct action, seeking help and use of alcohol. 2, Behavioral Pattern Questionnaire and Work-Related Experience AVEM- Schaarschmidt and Fischer, which describes the eleven manifestations of functioning at work which, in turn, allow a worker to be qualified under one of the four types of work behaviors: Type G – Healthy, type S - Savings, type A - Risk (excessively burdened) and type B - Burned out.
