<title>Attachment style, love components and sociosexual orientation of men and women in different types of heterosexual relationships</title>
<link>https://repozytorium.ukw.edu.pl///handle/item/3961</link>
<description>Attachment style, love components and sociosexual orientation of men and women in different types of heterosexual relationships
Greszta, Elżbieta; Jastrzębski, Jarosław; Izdebski, Zbigniew; Kowalska-Dąbrowska, Monika; Januszkiewicz, Aleksandra
This study aimed to define psychological determinants of choosing&#13;
heterosexual relationship type. In this purpose three groups of participants have&#13;
been compared, representing different types of relationships (Friends With Benefits&#13;
– FWB, short-term relationships, lasting shorter than 12 months and long-term&#13;
relationships, lasting longer than 12 months) with respect to the attachment styles,&#13;
passion, intimacy and commitment and sociosexual orientation. 90 individuals&#13;
participated in the study (15 women and 15 men in each group). They completed&#13;
three questionnaires: Attachment Style Questionnaire by Mieczysław Plopa (2008),&#13;
Love Measurement Questionnaire and Sociosexual Orientation Inventory Questionnaire&#13;
SOI-R by Penke and Asendorpf (2008). Results of the univariate analysis&#13;
of variance indicated, that individuals in short-term and long-term relationships&#13;
showed higher intensity of the secure attachment style and higher level of intimacy&#13;
and commitment, while persons in FWB relationships showed higher intensity&#13;
of the avoidant attachment style and non-restrictive sociosexual orientation. No&#13;
statistically significant differences have been observed between the groups with&#13;
respect to the intensity of the anxious/ambivalent attachment style and the level&#13;
of passion.

<title>Subjective loneliness, well-being and marital satisfaction in couples with different attachment styles</title>
<link>https://repozytorium.ukw.edu.pl///handle/item/3960</link>
<description>Subjective loneliness, well-being and marital satisfaction in couples with different attachment styles
Kornaszewska-Polak, Monika
The basic principle of attachment theory is the assumption that early&#13;
childhood attachment relationships with significant others (primary attachment&#13;
figure) are the pattern for the later romantic relationships in adulthood (with a romantic&#13;
partner). Four questionnaire methods were applied to diagnose the quality&#13;
of relationships in adult life: Plopa’s Attachment Styles Questionnaire (KSM); Satisfaction&#13;
with Life Scale (SWLS) in Juczyński adaptation, de Jong Gierveld Loneliness&#13;
Scale (DJGLS) and Pospiszyl’s Marital Happiness Questionnaire (KSM).&#13;
250 married couples with different marital experience were subjected. The study&#13;
proved the existence of statistical relationships between the secure attachment&#13;
styles, well-being, loneliness and the marital satisfaction. The research confirmed&#13;
the mediating impact of loneliness and psychological well-being on the marital&#13;
satisfaction of adults with different attachment styles. As it turned out, the marital&#13;
satisfaction can be seriously lessened by loneliness in safely attached adults and&#13;
well-being can enhance this satisfaction in insecurely attached adults.

<title>The experience of child abuse of teenage mothers and their caregiving representations</title>
<link>https://repozytorium.ukw.edu.pl///handle/item/3959</link>
<description>The experience of child abuse of teenage mothers and their caregiving representations
Wycisk, Jowita
Teenage motherhood is often an indirect effect of abusive experiences&#13;
of young mother in her childhood and a risk factor for less optimal development&#13;
of the mother-child relation. The quality of maternal caregiving representations&#13;
plays a significant role in the development of both, mother-child relation and child&#13;
attachment quality. In the present study I asked the question to what extent the&#13;
early age of childbirth of mother is also linked to the quality of maternal caregiving&#13;
representation.&#13;
Two groups of preschool children’s mothers were compared in terms of the frequency&#13;
of their childhood abusive experiences and their caregiving representations&#13;
(trust, helplessness &amp; and attempt to control, distancing in caregiving relation).&#13;
Mothers who gave birth under the age of 18 years (N = 34) reported more&#13;
experiences of emotional, physical, sexual abuse and negligence and demonstrated&#13;
a lower level of trust in caregiving relation and a higher level of helplessness and&#13;
attempts to control as compared to those who gave birth at the age of 25 or later&#13;
(N = 36). To establish predictors of the caregiving representations quality, the stepwise&#13;
linear regression analysis was performed. The sum of abusive experiences in&#13;
childhood and the age of the child were main predictors of the caregiving representations&#13;
quality. The age of childbirth was a significant (but the weakest) predictor&#13;
only in the case of helplessness and attempts to control in caregiving relation.&#13;
The results and limitations of the study were discussed and the directions for further&#13;
research were indicated.
