<title>Po co psychologia?</title>
<link>https://repozytorium.ukw.edu.pl///handle/item/1363</link>
<description>Po co psychologia?
Brzeziński, Jerzy
Three main problems are considered The first is that psychology should avoid any inclination towards neuroscience or a type of brain science. Making use of the achievements of natural sciences, psychology should take into regard the cultural conditions [determinants] and methods worked out in social sciences. Thus, it should adopt the antireductionistic methodological programme. The second problem is that psychology must reject the papers that entice with apparent scientific approach being actually of no real worth, Also the threat posed to psychological practice by pseudo-scientific monographs and pseudo-test should be recognized. They offer scientifically false basis of practical work of psychologists in the sphere of social practice. The third problem is that each psychological practice should be preceded by a psychological theory that is empirical and needs to be verified by a methodologically correct method. Thee underlying empirical psychological theory makes a given psychological practice sensible and ethical. The status of psychology as a science and the status of psychological practice are related to the quality of education of future psychologists. The author definitely opts for the model of full-time 5-year master’s degree studies (so against the Bologna model of 3-year licentiate (BA) followed by a 2-year master’s degree study (MA)), supplemented with a one-year training under supervision of an experienced specialist. The effective and ethical work of professional psychologists in Poland suffers from the lack of legal regulations that would protect this profession against the infiltration of all kinds of charlatans offering pseudo-scientific diagnostic tools like e.g. the Tree test of Charles Koch and therapies like e.g. the Systemic Constellation of Bert Hellinger. Of utmost importance is development of not only methodological awareness but also ethical awareness in psychologists and students of psychology. Moreover, the education should bring the realization of the effects and danger of scientific misconduct of FFP type, that is fabrication, falsification, plagiarism.

<title>Marital satisfaction, differentiation of self and stress perceived by women</title>

<description>Marital satisfaction, differentiation of self and stress perceived by women
Kaleta, Kinga
Differentiation of self refers to the ability to modulate affect, maintain a clear sense of Self, and balance intimacy and autonomy in significant relationships. The author tested whether differentiation mediated the relationship between marital satisfaction and stress perceived by women. The sample consisted of 220 married women. Marital satisfaction was found to be inversely correlated with perceived stress. Greater marital satisfaction also coincided with better differentiation of self (less emotional reactivity, greater I position, less emotional cutoff and fusion with others), while lower level of differentiation was significantly associated with higher feeling of stress. Differentiation of self also mediated the linkage between marital satisfaction and stress perceived by women. The results support searching hypothesis.

<description>Równowaga systemu rodzinnego i satysfakcja z życia a dobrobyt i style radzenia sobie ze stresem matek dzieci z niepełnosprawnością
Lewandowska-Walter, Aleksandra; Kichler, Katarzyna; Trawicka, Agnieszka
A critical situation that parents of children with disabilities have to deal with often surpasses their adaptive and financial abilities, which is significant for their well-being. The family often fights for keeping the balance, but can often do that in a way that blocks the development of the whole system or individual development of people that belong to it. The aim of research presented in this report is an analysis of functioning of balanced and unbalanced family systems with disabled children. The research included the perception and life situation of mothers, who out of all family members are the most prone to experiencing raised stress levels and exhaustion as the ones taking direct care of a disabled child. The participants of the study were mothers (n = 70, age: M = 41,5; SD = B), children and teenagers with disability. The method used in the study was interview with the use of custom survey and questionnaire methods: Family Rating Scales (Margasinski, 2013) - Polish adaptation of Olson's Faces IV scale and Endler and Parker's Coping Inventory for Stressful Situations (in Polish adaptation CISS; Strelau et. al., 2005). The analyses also included the specifics of each child's disability (level of disability, level of the child's independence, requirements related to rehabilitation treatments). The results of own research suggest that mothers from balanced families in comparison to women from unbalanced families rate their systems as more coherent and flexible, more often use a task oriented stress coping strategy, have higher income and are more happy with their financial and living conditions. However, the profile of a "healthy" family is closer to a coherent-rigid one that to a fully balanced system type.
