This study aimed to define psychological determinants of choosing
heterosexual relationship type. In this purpose three groups of participants have
been compared, representing different types of relationships (Friends With Benefits
– FWB, short-term relationships, lasting shorter than 12 months and long-term
relationships, lasting longer than 12 months) with respect to the attachment styles,
passion, intimacy and commitment and sociosexual orientation. 90 individuals
participated in the study (15 women and 15 men in each group). They completed
three questionnaires: Attachment Style Questionnaire by Mieczysław Plopa (2008),
Love Measurement Questionnaire and Sociosexual Orientation Inventory Questionnaire
SOI-R by Penke and Asendorpf (2008). Results of the univariate analysis
of variance indicated, that individuals in short-term and long-term relationships
showed higher intensity of the secure attachment style and higher level of intimacy
and commitment, while persons in FWB relationships showed higher intensity
of the avoidant attachment style and non-restrictive sociosexual orientation. No
statistically significant differences have been observed between the groups with
respect to the intensity of the anxious/ambivalent attachment style and the level
of passion.

Kornaszewska-Polak, Monika
The basic principle of attachment theory is the assumption that early
childhood attachment relationships with significant others (primary attachment
figure) are the pattern for the later romantic relationships in adulthood (with a romantic
partner). Four questionnaire methods were applied to diagnose the quality
of relationships in adult life: Plopa’s Attachment Styles Questionnaire (KSM); Satisfaction
with Life Scale (SWLS) in Juczyński adaptation, de Jong Gierveld Loneliness
Scale (DJGLS) and Pospiszyl’s Marital Happiness Questionnaire (KSM).
250 married couples with different marital experience were subjected. The study
proved the existence of statistical relationships between the secure attachment
styles, well-being, loneliness and the marital satisfaction. The research confirmed
the mediating impact of loneliness and psychological well-being on the marital
satisfaction of adults with different attachment styles. As it turned out, the marital
satisfaction can be seriously lessened by loneliness in safely attached adults and
well-being can enhance this satisfaction in insecurely attached adults.
2016-01-01T00:00:00ZThe experience of child abuse of teenage mothers and their caregiving representationsWycisk, Jowitahttps://repozytorium.ukw.edu.pl///handle/item/39592017-01-06T01:01:22Z2016-01-01T00:00:00ZThe experience of child abuse of teenage mothers and their caregiving representations
Wycisk, Jowita
Teenage motherhood is often an indirect effect of abusive experiences
of young mother in her childhood and a risk factor for less optimal development
of the mother-child relation. The quality of maternal caregiving representations
plays a significant role in the development of both, mother-child relation and child
attachment quality. In the present study I asked the question to what extent the
early age of childbirth of mother is also linked to the quality of maternal caregiving
representation.
Two groups of preschool children’s mothers were compared in terms of the frequency
of their childhood abusive experiences and their caregiving representations
(trust, helplessness & and attempt to control, distancing in caregiving relation).
Mothers who gave birth under the age of 18 years (N = 34) reported more
experiences of emotional, physical, sexual abuse and negligence and demonstrated
a lower level of trust in caregiving relation and a higher level of helplessness and
attempts to control as compared to those who gave birth at the age of 25 or later
(N = 36). To establish predictors of the caregiving representations quality, the stepwise
linear regression analysis was performed. The sum of abusive experiences in
childhood and the age of the child were main predictors of the caregiving representations
quality. The age of childbirth was a significant (but the weakest) predictor
only in the case of helplessness and attempts to control in caregiving relation.
The results and limitations of the study were discussed and the directions for further
research were indicated.
