The paper aims at examining the predictive role of hope in hedonistic and eudaimonistic dimensions of subjective well-being. Five questionnaires were applied: Scale of Hope, BHI-12 Questionnaire, Satisfaction with Life Scale, PANAS-X Scale, Psychological Well-Being Scale. 206 people were subjected to the above methods. The obtained results suggest that hope understood in terms of success and as basic hope is interconnected both with hedonistic and eudaimonistic well-being. Hope for success appears to be a better predictor for a majority of dimensions of well-being, apart from the affective dimension of subjective well-being in which basic hope has a stronger predictive value. The existing connections between hope and hedonistic and eudaimonistic well-being can result from the concept of goals which is deeply embedded in both constructs and has significant motivational roles.

The paper reports research aimed at developing a self-report measure of the propensity to experience off-task thoughts. Exploratory factor analyses of experimental versions of Off-Task Thoughts Questionnaire (OTTQ) suggest the need for distinguishing three broad categories of task-unrelated thoughts, based on the kind of emotional involvement of the person. The first category encompasses thoughts that involve negative emotions (about failures, difficulties, conflicts, threats), the second - emotionally positive thoughts (pleasant memories, dreams of successes, plans), and the third - thoughts relating to emotionally neutral matters, thoughts that are ego-dystonic, and episodes of zoning out with no specific conscious content. The respective three scales of the OTTQ correlate differently with personality and temperament traits measured by Eysenck’s EPQ-R and Zawadzki and Strelau’s FCZ-KT, and also with a self-report measure of everyday "cognitive failures” that result from not paying proper attention to the task at hand.

The aim of the study is to investigate the link between body self and identity processes in women who experienced sexual violence and in women without such experiences.
Measurement of identity processes, using Identity and Experience Scale by Whitbourne, Sneed and Skultety, and body-self, using Questionnaire of Body Self by Sakson-Obada, were administered among control and clinical group. The control group consisted of 149 women who have not experienced sexual violence and in clinical group there were 43 women with sexual trauma. Results show that sexual trauma could lead to distortions in experiencing own
body. Whereas difficulties in assimilation and integration those traumatic experiences indicate that sexual violence and changes in perception of own body might be a threat for coherence of identity.

The aim of this paper is to compare susceptibility to the Stroop effect in men with schizophrenia and in men with frontal lobe lesions. A sample of 90 men participated in the study. They were divided into three groups: men with schizophrenia (n = 30), men with localized frontal lobe lesions (n = 30) and healthy men (n = 30) as a control group. Significant differences measures found between controls and men with schizophrenia in all of the analyzed variable (Control task execution time p < 0,001 ; Interference task execution time: p < 0,001 ; Difference between two times p < 0,05). Men with frontal lobe lesions differed significantly from healthy controls in the terms of speed of the task execution (Control task execution time p < 0,01; Interference task execution time: p < 0,0l), but were no more prone
to the Stroop effect than healthy controls. No significant differences were found between schizophrenia and frontal lobe lesion groups.
